Who are you? Tell us, in a few words, who you are and what do you do?
Nicolas Sebastiani, I’m part owner of an Insurance Cabinet affiliated with La Capitale. My days consist of having conversations about damage insurance and educating potential clients on the ways I can bring them value. When I’m not working, I enjoy cooking – currently trying to master the art of plating. I’m passionate about soccer, I enjoy listening to amazon audible/podcasts. Going to cafes has become a way of life.
What values are you committed to?
Family, Loyalty, Community, Compassion
What/Who inspired you to become an entrepreneur/young professional?
Indirectly, my father did. My goal was always to provide a future for my family similar to the lifestyle I’m living today. I saw firsthand what was possible with hard work in the insurance field and I can’t say that I regret my decision whatsoever.
What is your definition of success?
Success is subjective and I feel my definition has two parts to it. Success is usually defined by an extraordinary outcome, and to be successful one must achieve this outcome. I see success as a journey with a destination. Staying true to the journey will ultimately define your success even if you never achieve the outcome.
If you had on piece of advice for someone just starting out, what would it be?
Just start. Start somewhere, and keep pushing forward. Even if it’s wrong you’ll be one step ahead on yesterday. And one step closer to your outcome.
What are you most looking forward to in the next 10 years?
Living! Growing old is a privilege denied to many.
Given the choice of anyone in the world, who would you want as a dinner guest?
Warren Buffet would be an obvious answer but since the world is filled with 6/7 billion plus people I would probably organize a dinner for 25 instead.
Where do you like to eat in Saint-Laurent/Mont-Royal?
I haven’t taken the necessary time to navigate the culinary scenes in these communities. But two staples I’m familiar with are La Sirene de la Mer and Elounda. You can’t go wrong at either.
Beer or wine?Any reccomendations?
Wine, this year’s numero uno according to WS is a 2015 Duckhorn Merlot. A less expensive option that I like is Canonica a Cerreto Chianti Classico
What game or movie universe would you most like to live in?
It’s a tough decision between GOT and Star Wars. Fight for the king of the north, or train to be a jedi…..decisions, decisions.
